It is narrated that Salamah ibn Deenaar, one of the prominent scholars of the early generations, said:
“ما أحببت أن يكون معك في الٱخرة فقدمه اليوم. وما كرهت أن يكون معك في الآخرة فاتركه اليوم”
Which means:
“Whatever you love to have with you in the Hereafter, send it forth today, and whatever you hate to have with you in the Hereafter, abandon it today.”
It was narrated by Ibn Abee Shaybah in “al-MuSannaf.”
