Calamities reveal people’s true nature and expose the hidden aspects of their essence. As for the devout believer, he remains steadfast at heart and guarded in speech when faced with trials. He softens in the face of tribulation, sometimes being tested and sometimes being relieved. He oscillates between relief from one trial and falling into another, whether it be in himself, his wealth, or his body. He knows that this is his path to purification from sins and elevation in ranks; for this reason, he endures patiently and perseveres.
