“It has been established that the act of declaring TajSSim (saying ALLAH is body) as disbelievers is affirmed by the three imams: Abu Hanifa, Al-Shafi’i, and Ahmad. It has also been confirmed from Imam Abu al-Hasan al-Ash’ari and Imam Abu Mansur al-Maturidi, May Allah have mercy upon them . Similarly, it has been narrated from Imam Malik, May Allah have mercy upon him, as the jurist Ibn al-Mundhir recounted from him that he said ([1]): ‘I believe that the people of innovation should be asked to repent, and if they repent, then [it is accepted], otherwise they should be killed by the Caliphate.’ End quote. The people of innovation are those who invented new beliefs in matters of creed such as the Mu’tazila, Mujassim (people saying ALLAH is body), Al Jabriyah, and other such sects. These groups appeared in earlier centuries and have not disappeared; rather, to this day, their progeny and remnants continue to roam and cause confusion among the beliefs and religion of Muslims, even if under different names and labels.”
