It is well known in the history of hadith transmission that some sects deliberately inserted fabricated reports into the narrations to promote their theological doctrines. This practice was attributed to groups such as the Karrāmiyyah, and it has also been reported that some Jahmiyyah engaged in similar actions. They would insert reports containing TASHBIH meanings into the books of the hadith scholars, taking advantage of the authoritative status of those collections as sources of evidence and legal or theological argumentation.
Over time, some Mujassima/Mushabihah groups, such as the Haddādiyyah and the Wahhābiyyah, came to accept these narrations as authentic expressions of the creed of the Salaf, without sufficiently scrutinizing their chains of transmission or critically examining their textual content.
